Rodeo Kickoff 2026: A Night Built Together The arena lights cut through arena dust as boots pressed into the dirt and music rolled across the property. Members gathered around grounds. Friends greeted one another with the easy familiarity that defines Cordillera Ranch. The smell of barbecue drifted through the air, and for a few hours, the Equestrian Center felt like the heart of Cordillera before it was Cordillera.
“It was an epic night,” Mr. Catlin shared afterward. He was right. What members experienced Saturday evening felt seamless, joyful, relaxed, effortless.
But like any championship team, what makes it look easy is what happens long before the stadium lights turn on.
In the club business, and especially in Food & Beverage, hospitality is a team sport.
Months before the first song was played, the Rodeo Kickoff began as an idea. A vision of bringing the Club community together in a way that felt authentic to the Hill Country and true to who we are.
Turning that vision into reality required more than creativity. It required alignment.
Planning meetings. Vendor coordination. Logistics mapped out in detail. Conversations across departments to ensure timing, flow and experience were fully integrated. Every team understood the shared objective: create a night members would remember.
That kind of clarity matters.
Championship teams don’t wait until game day to decide how they will play. They prepare. They align. They commit.
As the event approached, the arena itself became a project of care and intention. The grounds were conditioned. Dust was settled late into the evening to ensure comfort. Parking was designed thoughtfully so arrival felt smooth and welcoming. Lighting was positioned to create both energy and atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the rhythm of the Club never paused.
Golf continued. Dining rooms filled. Earlier events were executed. Super Bowl preparations were underway. Regular member service remained uninterrupted.
That is the nature of our Club — multiple worlds operating at once, all requiring excellence.
Inside the kitchen, the culinary team moved with steady focus. Food was prepared generously and precisely — not just enough, but more than enough. Roles were clear. Communication was constant. Adjustments were made quietly and quickly.
When the buffet opened at the rodeo event, it felt abundant and natural.
It felt easy. But ease is the result of preparation and trust.
Hospitality works much like a championship football team.
Every player understands their position.
Every player trusts the person beside them.
No one succeeds alone.
One team member anticipates a need before it is spoken. Another adjusts the pace of service to match the room. Equipment arrives exactly when it is needed. Lighting comes on at the right moment. Parking flows without frustration. Music starts on cue. The bar hums without bottleneck.
There are no small roles in a team sport. And there are no small roles in hospitality.
Facilities ensured equipment was there and ready. The Equestrian team prepared the environment. Outside Services managed arrival and flow. Event leadership coordinated vendors and timelines. Food & Beverage carried the rhythm of the evening.
Individually, each department is strong. Together, they are exceptional.
Members place their trust in us not simply for events, but for experiences that become tradition. Trust is built collectively. It is built when everything works in harmony. It is built when people care deeply about doing their part well and about supporting the person next to them.
One of the most meaningful lessons in the club business is this: excellence is rarely about one standout performer. It is about shared accountability and shared pride.
Saturday night was a reflection of that.
When the music faded and the arena lights dimmed, the work continued. Equipment was packed. Spaces were reset. Sunday service was prepared. The rhythm of the Club moved forward again.
But there was something else present in that quiet moment.
Pride.
Pride in what the team accomplished.
Pride in how departments supported one another.
Pride in a membership that shows up, participates, and makes nights like this meaningful.
The Rodeo Kickoff was more than an event.
It was proof of what happens when a Club community, staff and members alike, moves together.
An incredible team.
A shared experience.
A place we are all proud to belong to.
Because when people commit to one another and to something bigger than themselves, extraordinary things happen.
Life is better out here.
