On Monday, December 8, 2025, Cordillera Ranch proudly hosted the Central Texas Golf Course Superintendents Association (CTGCSA) Annual Toy Drive Tournament — an event that has become both a cherished tradition and one of the association’s most impactful charitable initiatives.

Founded in 2011, this year marked the 15th annual Toy Drive Tournament, celebrating more than a decade of generosity, community engagement and professional fellowship within the Central Texas golf industry. Each year, the tournament benefits Blue Santa or local charities within the host club’s community, allowing the positive impact of the event to extend well beyond the golf course.

The 2025 tournament welcomed a full field of 96 contestants, representing golf facilities from across the region. Participants enjoyed a festive day that combined friendly competition with meaningful purpose, beginning with a barbecue lunch and followed by a round of team golf on the Cordillera Ranch course. The true highlight of the day, however, was the overwhelming generosity shown by the players, who collectively donated more than 100 gifts. This year, all toys were donated to Blue Santa and Hill Country Family Services, helping ensure that local families and children experienced joy and support during the holiday season.

Over the years, the CTGCSA Toy Drive Tournament has grown into one of the premier events on the association’s annual calendar, now selling out the very day registration opens. Its popularity is a reflection not only of the event’s charitable mission, but also of the strong sense of camaraderie and shared purpose among golf course superintendents and industry partners throughout Central Texas.

Events like the Toy Drive Tournament play a vital role in supporting the broader mission of the CTGCSA. Through these efforts, the association is able to continue funding local charitable causes, student scholarships, turfgrass research trials and projects, and ongoing monthly educational programs that advance the profession and support the next generation of golf course leaders.

Cordillera Ranch was honored to serve as host for this special event and to support the CTGCSA’s continued commitment to service, education and community stewardship.

Thank you to the CTGCSA, its sponsors and all participants for making the 2025 Toy Drive Tournament such a memorable success — and thank you to Cordillera Ranch for hosting a truly outstanding event.

Living Longer or Living Healthier: Your Lifespan vs. Health Span

At Cordillera Ranch, we often talk about achieving new fitness goals and enjoying a round of golf, tennis or pickleball. These activities and so many others we do are central to a vibrant life here at the Clubs. But how do we measure the success of our health? Do we want to live longer and “survive” our life, or do we want to thrive? Some say we would like quality over quantity; I believe we can have quality in the quantity of years in our lives.

Welcome Letter

It’s Been a Year of Progress and Connection

As the days grow shorter and our community begins to sparkle with holiday lights, I wanted to share a quick note of gratitude and a few friendly reminders as we head into the season. This time of year always seems to bring out the best in people — more get-togethers, more shared meals and more neighborly help when it’s needed most. That spirit is what makes Cordillera Ranch such a special place to call home and, frankly, it’s not solely unique to this time of year.
