Spring Social Member Events at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch

Spring has been in full swing with numerous opportunities for members to mix it up with a variety of fun social events, and more are on the way this summer and fall. Be sure to check out our very expanded upcoming calendar of events … there truly is something for everyone!

Young Guns of Cordillera Ranch

A social mixer group for young professionals and/or families still raising children and seeking to meet others who share this same phase of life.

The Club is excited to launch Young Guns of Cordillera Ranch with our first happy hour mixer held on Thursday, April 21. The Club, along with our Cordillera Ranch community, has experienced expansive growth in the past few years with a sizable increase of young professionals, many with young families who are excited to call Cordillera their home. Our hope is to connect those members, with limited time away from their busy work life and family obligations, to other like-minded members.

“Young Guns” will be an organized quarterly happy hour mixer dedicated to those members in this busy phase of life. The Kid’s Club is always available for those needing childcare. Watch for upcoming calendar dates and mixers…

Thursday, June 23 at 6:00pm – “Margarita Night at the Pool”

Thursday, September 8 at 6:00pm – “Theme TBD”

New Member Cocktail Reception
An opportunity for new members to socialize, make new friends and be introduced to the fabulous events at the Club.

New members were invited to a happy hour cocktail party on May 12, held poolside from 5:30-6:30pm. This special event preceded the Club’s annual “Spring Round-Up.” The big party started at 6:30pm featuring rockin’ country western band Smoke Wagon, with members two-stepping and enjoying a great barbeque buffet.

The next New Member Cocktail Reception will precede the “Oktoberfest” party for all members: Friday, September 23.

Pinot & Pearls

Back by popular demand, the Club hosted the annual “Gallery of Pearls” shopping event presented by Mike Brennan, owner and global pearl producer.

Our ladies enjoyed cocktails of sparkling wine, pinot noir and pinot grigio with a delicious buffet in-between shopping and presentations from how to wear pearls and care for pearls, and where they come from and how they are produced. Each lady was given a complimentary pair of pearl stud earrings while enjoying “before retail” pricing for their purchases along with many door prizes.

This will be back again next year… watch your calendar!

W.O.W. – “Women of Wine” “Martha Stewart on the Riviera”– Inspired Food and Wine from the South of France.

While the ladies were enjoying wine and food pairings with cooking class demonstrations from Chef Isaac, the men enjoyed a men-only event — “MOBB, Men of Beer & Bourbon,” in the Men’s locker room.

C-Star Ladies Day Out
Shop, Wine & Dine – Texas Hill Country Style

Our Cordillera ladies and their guests enjoyed a fun day of shopping, dining and wining while our Annual C-Star Member-Guest Tournament was underway for the men! The ladies began the day with breakfast at the Club, and those interested designed their own custom boots with custom boot designer, Collin Rae Nichols.

We boarded our party bus limousine for shopping in Boerne for the rest of the morning where our ladies received shopping discounts at our favorite boutiques… Celeste, Joli and Uptown Chic. With shopping bags loaded, our party bus headed to Singing Water Vineyards in Comfort for an enjoyable lunch and wine tasting.

Agronomy

Challenges. Opportunities. Moving Forward.

Fall has been a busy season for the Agronomy team. This important season kicks off after all the fun of the Ladies’ Ranch Roundup, when we begin our greens aerification process. At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

Amanda Naranjo

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been around the game of golf. From watching golf tournaments on TV with my family to going out to the driving range with my dad during my High School years while on the Golf Team, everything I associate with golf has been positive. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
