For more than a decade Dickens on Main has become a Boerne staple and has delivered a cheerful holiday event for children and adults alike. No matter your preference for holiday festivities, there’s something for everyone throughout these two weekends. This year, the City of Boerne, Boerne Business Alliance, Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce, and Hill Country Council for the Arts have crafted a 2013 Christmas celebration with even more festive entertainment, family fun, children’s activities and decor showcasing Boerne’s heritage and local retailers along the Hill Country Mile.

This year’s Dickens on Main will be a two-weekend celebration.  Fire & Ice Weekend will light up the town Nov. 29-30 and O Tannenbaum Weekend will continue on Dec. 6-7. Bundle up and head to Main Street for a family-friendly festival full of lighting ceremonies, community plays, holiday tunes, snow shows, fire pits, a Christmas parade and more!

Also, don’t forget the shopping. Enjoy the quaint shops along Main Street and shop the new Dickens Artisan Market which will feature unique handmade crafts and gifts.

All ages can watch any of the snow shows at Snow on Main Street each evening of Dickens on Main. And what better way to celebrate than with the Christmas man himself — Santa Claus! Each evening, Santa will greet children, young and old, on the Christmas lit grounds of the Little Nature Store.

The smell of burning firewood and the warmth of a fire will surely get you in the spirit as you savor the smell of roasting chestnuts and warm up while listening to holiday music from the Boerne Village Band.

Professional entertainers, ensembles from local schools, community carolers and local singer-songwriters will entertain both weekends with festive tunes.
