Nestled on 100 acres at the west end of Cordillera Ranch, the Equestrian Center is a popular destination for horse enthusiasts with lessons, programming and boarding, year-round. The Equestrian Center is also a great place to host a private event.

Shaded by a canopy of heritage oaks and surrounded by the beautiful Texas Hill Country landscape, the area remains a pristine, undeveloped setting that transforms with the seasons, from wild flowers peppered with oak leaves in the spring through fall and winter foliage in colors of orange, gold and sage. The natural environment, when paired with lovely, customized décor, lends a rustic elegance to any special occasion.

The Equestrian Center is available for our members to utilize for weddings, reunions, fundraisers, retreats, group meetings, corporate events and individual reservations. With plenty of room to roam and the capacity to accommodate groups as small as 100 or fewer and as great as 750, it is ideal for any situation. The facility has held special events as large as the Cordillera Ranch Shindig with 750 guests in attendance. Many weddings have been celebrated and it’s been the backdrop for filming Cavender Chevy commercials with George Strait and the music video for country artist Scotty Alexander’s new release, “Cowboy’s Daughter.” Several Club events take place annually at the Equestrian Center such as the Easter Eggstravaganza with 250 members in attendance, and the Clays and Crawfish event that begins with a Sporting Clays Tournament at the adjacent Gun Club, followed by a good ol’ Cajun crawfish boil.

Whatever your vision for your special day may be, our professional staff are here to make planning your event as elegant and effortless as possible. Or host a retreat that incorporates a wide variety of recreational opportunities available on the Ranch. Regardless of the theme or event size, our culinary team can prepare casual meals or a higher level of cuisine. And guests can enjoy an overnight stay in the new luxurious Lodges at Cordillera Ranch.

Really, the possibilities are endlessly fabulous.

Challenges. Opportunities. Moving Forward.

Fall has been a busy season for the Agronomy team. This important season kicks off after all the fun of the Ladies’ Ranch Roundup, when we begin our greens aerification process. At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

Amanda Naranjo

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been around the game of golf. From watching golf tournaments on TV with my family to going out to the driving range with my dad during my High School years while on the Golf Team, everything I associate with golf has been positive. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
