We hosted yet another wonderful Preferred Builders Home Tour in late October, closing out our 2024 bi-annual event held every spring and fall. With more than 350 total attendees, this was one of, if not, our most well-attended tours ever.

At this past fall tour, our guests were treated to eight homes from our six Preferred Builders, stretching from The Springs to Clubs Village. Showcasing why they are the best-of-the-best, our Preferred Builders gave folks a look at the latest in architecture, design and construction trends and techniques being used today.

Of course, all eight homes received rave reviews from visitors in attendance, but one stood-out above the rest — Garner Custom Homes’ new model in The Springs of Cordillera Ranch. The Garner team’s latest showpiece at 6 Monterey Trail took home the awards for Best Home and Best Kitchen during the event and was certainly the talk of the tour this time around.

We also would like to recognize the team at Paul Allen Custom Homes, who’s stunning model at 234 Cordillera Ridge was the top vote-getter for Best Outdoor Space, a popular category here in Cordillera Ranch given our spectacular weather and views that stretch for miles across the Texas Hill Country.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank our guests that came out for a spectacular day, along with ALL our Preferred Builders and staff from each of their organizations. Their hard work and dedication to make this a great event that so many people look forward to attending each year doesn’t go unnoticed, and we are grateful for their support.

We’ll see you for an even better tour this spring!

Challenges. Opportunities. Moving Forward.

Fall has been a busy season for the Agronomy team. This important season kicks off after all the fun of the Ladies’ Ranch Roundup, when we begin our greens aerification process. At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been around the game of golf. From watching golf tournaments on TV with my family to going out to the driving range with my dad during my High School years while on the Golf Team, everything I associate with golf has been positive. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.

Champagne!

Too often, Champagne is relegated to weddings and holidays, and otherwise ignored. While its festive, bubbly deliciousness certainly augments those occasions, it also makes a fantastic everyday libation that is a great match with food. In this article, let us talk about Champagne and in our March/April issue, we will discuss the most common types of other sparkling wines and the differences among them.
