Fine Art, Fine Living

The Hill Country is blessed with some of the most talented artists in Texas and Boerne has some of its own. Specializing in every medium, the Hill Country artists create pieces that are shown in galleries throughout the World. One of our newest Fine Art Galleries, Texas Treasures Fine Art. While one of the newer art galleries, it has fast become one of the area’s best known, representing sculptors and painters from all over the world specializing in landscape, figurative, impressionistic, still life, Southwest Native American and Western art. Owned by Johny Rosa, Texas Treasures has also formed a wonderful relationship with the Clubs of Cordillera Ranch. Every 3rd Thursday of the month for 2012, the Clubs of Cordillera Ranch and Texas Treasures fine art will be putting on an Art & Wine Stroll that features live music, wine tasting, incredible food and live demonstrations by featured artist.

Johny stated, “That from the very first show at Cordillera Ranch that it’s a perfect venue for art. The facilities are breathtaking and the staff is accommodating and professional and with everyone’s combined effort the show is a wonderful event. The residents continue to show their appreciation and love for the arts and I will continue to showcase the very best art and artists for them to enjoy. And that appreciation extends to Texas Treasures Fine Art as well. Monty Becton, General Manager for the Clubs at Cordillera Ranch adds, “We‘ve been so pleased with the events that Johny and his team have put together. They’ve been top-notch, and our residents and guests have really enjoyed all the hard work they’ve put into coordinating these events.”

While the shows began in the later part of 2011, Johny has even bigger plans for 2012. Each show will have a unique focus and highlight a wide range of mediums and artists. Some of the artists and artwork that you will have an opportunity to meet or view in 2012 are:
Bill Zaner – 82 year old Iconic Texas Landscape painter
Erik Christianson – a sculptor that is in the Library of Congress
Tim Cox – Western artist and President of Cowboy Artists of America
Ed Natiya – Navajo Sculptor
Barry McCuan – “plein air” landscape painter from Santa Fe
Lynne Windsor – English artist featured on the cover of November issue of Southwest Art Magazine
Juan Dell Wade – one of the first female sculptors in Santa Fe and an Honorary Member of the Texas Rangers, to name just a few.

As the word of Texas Treasures Fine Art has grown, so has the 3rd Thursday Art & Wine Stroll at the Clubs of Cordillera Ranch. Shows runs from 6pm – 9pm.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.
