Tell us about the other positions you have held at the Clubs, and how they prepared you for your new role.
I started at Cordillera Ranch as a server, then moved to bartending in the Twin Sisters Lounge, then during Covid, I discovered the wonderful world of Bev Cart! Each position showed me a new aspect of the Club and our membership. There were members who I didn’t get to know until I worked in Twin Sisters, and most definitely members I didn’t ever see until I got out on our golf course! Our Club is so multifaceted — I love getting to know all of our different members and how everyone finds their own niche within the Clubs. Working in Food and Beverage allowed me the opportunity to work with our amazing team and understand how things work. Coming into my new role, there are so many things we can do to make members and their guests feel special and appreciated, and having the time at Cordillera previously has given me an inside glimpse of how I can do this every single day.
What has been your most rewarding member experience at the Clubs?
There have been so many unique experiences with our membership that I honestly cannot pinpoint just ONE. Our fantastic C-Star productions and other awesome events, being a part of special family celebrations, making someone’s birthday memorable, seeing “kids” I used to spoil in Twin Sisters now grown and (gosh I’m aging myself!) married?! My time at Cordillera has been absolutely amazing. Our membership is truly special and it really is a family. It’s been so wonderful coming “home” to Cordillera again. As a sweet member said when she welcomed me back, “You’re family! We miss you when you’re not here!” When I told my husband about the opportunity to come back and work for Cordillera, he reminded me that this is where we started our family! I actually met my husband at Cordillera back in 2016. We worked together — you know the ole’ assistant facilities director meets bartender story? Tale as old as time.
What do you like most about working at Cordillera Ranch?
If it hasn’t been made clear yet, I love everything about Cordillera Ranch! But working here in this new position, I absolutely LOVE my team! Our Membership Director Brianna Botine is a force to be reckoned with. Talk about mom/career goals! I love learning from her and soaking up as much knowledge as I can. Working with The Lodges, I love to see all of our planning come together, and putting together an outing that utilizes the entire Club. For example, a group can be shuttled in from the airport in our luxury vans, check in to their rooms, head off to the Gun Club or enjoy a massage in our Fitness Center, then come back for a team dinner poolside and tackle more activities the next day! I love how every day is different. One day we’re putting together corporate outings, the next day we’re making Grinch videos for social media and planning member events … work out here is certainly never boring!
What motivates you to succeed?
Making my children proud of their mom. Making my mom proud of me. I tell my mom all the time I don’t know how she did it! Working and mom-ing and doing all the activities and making all the magic is so fun but it’s also a lot! My mom seemed to do this effortlessly and I hope one day my kids will feel the same about me.
What is your most unusual talent or party trick?
I know an absurd number of lyrics to songs and movie quotes. I’m also fairly great at impressions!
What was your most recent adventure?
Solo parenting two kiddos for the past nine months while my husband has been deployed overseas!
What is your favorite meal?
My favorite meal is Christmas Morning Breakfast: homemade tamales, fried eggs (nice and runny) crispy bacon and toast!
If you had to watch one movie on repeat, what would it be?
Steel Magnolias or The Devil Wears Prada.
