How did you become employed at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch?

I started as an intern with the Texas Tech Hospitality Program in the summer of 2013, working as a pool server! After graduation, I pursued a career as a cake artist in Austin but realized how much I missed Cordillera Ranch. When I found out they had a management position available, my family and I jumped at the chance to move to Boerne and it was our best decision yet.

What past work history prepared you for The Clubs?

I’ve been an avid employee in the club industry since high school. I’ve served, bartended, worked special events and also did beverage cart driving for a couple years. Before returning to Cordillera Ranch, I worked as the Service Manager at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin. The club industry is in my blood and I have a passion for human connection relationships.

What position were you in prior to receiving this promotion?

I started as the Dining Room Manager, and during the summer I ran the pool operations as the Cabana and Pool Manager.

What are your primary goals in your new position?

I enjoy enhancing our members’ experiences and want to bring it to the next level! We will continue to focus on the finer details and create a positive team atmosphere. The food and beverage program at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch just keeps getting better and better!

What has been your most rewarding professional experience?

Running the pool operations as the Pool Manager last summer was incredible. I enjoyed being with the kids every day and getting to know the families. I successfully trained a new team and excelled professionally in just three months. And to top it off, I was in a cast for the most of it due to an accident in the spring!

What has been your greatest professional challenge?

I was in a major accident that took me out of work for about a month, and when I returned, it was a challenge to perform normal office duties. My amazing team was supportive and patient during my road to recovery and I received warm wishes from the members as well.

What do you like most about working at Cordillera Ranch?

I enjoy the membership that we have and the team I work with. It makes the day very fun being surrounded by happy people.

Favorite quote or motto?

Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally. It comes from what you do consistently.

Anything that would surprise others about yourself?

I have played golf since I was two years old. My grandfather is in the PGA as a teaching professional and taught me to love the game.

Most meaningful personal experience?

My father is a rodeo clown and I’ve had the opportunity to travel to 28 states over eight summers with the PRCA rodeo circuit!

Challenges. Opportunities. Moving Forward.

Fall has been a busy season for the Agronomy team. This important season kicks off after all the fun of the Ladies’ Ranch Roundup, when we begin our greens aerification process. At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been around the game of golf. From watching golf tournaments on TV with my family to going out to the driving range with my dad during my High School years while on the Golf Team, everything I associate with golf has been positive. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
