Disc Golf Course at Swede Creek

The Cordillera Ranch Disc Golf Course is a 9-hole course nestled within the beautiful river park along Swede Creek. There is a wide range of tree-lined fairways, a meandering creek bed, water hazards, rock outcroppings and terrain that offers some challenging shots. The course is designed for beginners and advanced players. Features include top-of-the-line disc golf baskets, natural grass tee pads and online scorecards to use.

Please practice caution while playing the course; it’s a natural Hill Country park setting and wildlife call the park home.

Course Map

Download a copy of the course map. When moving from hole 6 tee to the north side of Swede Creek, please use the trail back to the road, crossing the creek.

Scoring

We have the course loaded onto an app you can use on iPhones or android phones for scoring, tips, distances and a satellite image of each hole. Download the app “UDisc Disc Golf.” Once you set up an account (use the free version — no need to pay unless you want to keep scores), click on “Courses” and search “Cordillera Ranch.” You can add players and keep score for your group.

Disc Golf Course Rules

The object of the game is to play the round in the fewest number of throws.

Do not throw until park visitors are safely out of range. Always give park users the right of way.

Begin playing each hole by teeing off from the tee pad near tee stone. Throws must be completed with both feet behind the tee stone.

All other throws are made from behind where the disc comes to rest.

The player whose disc is furthest from the basket throws first.

To complete the hole, the disc must come to rest in the basket or chains.

Tee-off order is determined by players’ scores on the previous hole; lowest score tees first.

A player may not break, bend or hold back any part of a tree or vegetation in order to make room for their throwing motion or their path to the basket.

Allow faster groups to play through when possible.

Hours

The disc golf course is open daily from dawn to dusk (subject to closure due to maintenance, special events and weather-related conditions).

Rental Equipment & Outfitter Center

Members of The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch can rent sets of discs in a backpack from the Outfitter Center. Contact Shane Reynolds at 210.616.6051 or at outfitter@cordilleraranch.com to make arrangements to pick-up and drop-off the equipment.

Pavilion Park Playground

The Cordillera Ranch Property Owners Association approved the purchase of not one, but two new sets of playground equipment at Pavilion Park. We have more than double the size of the playground area and selected systems that cater to a variety of ages. The systems selected were Elephant Rock and Bonita Bay. Elephant Rock is a multi-event obstacle course that includes the Crab Climber course, the Zig Zag Challenge and the S-Balance Bridge. There are also multiple climbing walls for the kids to challenge themselves on, as well as a slide to top it all off. The Bonita Bay set offers a variety of activities for children including the Boulder Climber, Curved Tube Bridge and multiple slides ranging from three to six feet tall. Bonita Bay caters to the younger children in the neighborhood, so we added Elephant Rock for the older children.

The POA removed the existing pea gravel which was used as a base previously and has replaced it with tumbled playground mulch. The area is now bordered in cut limestone block, which will soon include the addition of picnic tables, benches and new trash receptacles. The horseshoe pits will be rebuilt on the lake side of the playground near two of the picnic tables.
