September Championship Results
September marked the return of a busy tournament schedule here at The Club. Both the Men’s Senior Club Championship and Ladies Club Championship took place. These events have continued to grow in popularity as they are a great way to test your skills as well as have a chance to meet some different players that may not be part of your regular group. Both Gross and Net prizes were awarded.
In addition, Cordillera Ranch hosted the Second Annual Legacy Cup Pro-Am and the Southern Texas PGA Charity Golf Summer tournament.

Senior Club Championship
In early September we crowned Nick Mumford as the 2015 Senior Club Champion! He played consistently over both days with scores of 78-76 for a 4 shot victory over Kirk Pearson. That was just the beginning of a great week for the Mumford family as Nick’s wife Isabelle won her third straight Ladies Club Championship and earlier this year their son Marc won the Tulsa Country Club Championship by 8 shots also! What a fantastic year of golf for the Mumfords!

Cordillera Ranch hosted the Second Annual Legacy Cup Pro-Am on September 27-29. Twelve 4-Person teams competed with private clubs from all over Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana represented. The tournament was sponsored by Martin Apparel and Fennec Golf which are two of the finest manufacturers of both cotton and performance golf clothing available in the industry today.
The event gave us a chance to showcase the outstanding facilities here at Cordillera Ranch as well as our Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course that is ranked #4 in the state. The golf course was in absolutely perfect condition and the weather was fantastic as well with temperatures in the mid 80’s. Teams were comprised of one Club Professional and three members, and the format was a Total Team Quota with adjustments after the first day. The event started with a practice round on Sunday followed by an Opening Dinner. Owner and developer David Hill was on hand to speak a little bit about the history of the Ranch and how the community and Club got started. Also, member David Cottrell, one of the leading authors and speakers in leadership excellence was on hand to speak to the group about leaving a Legacy in business. Monday play was followed by a themed putting contest where fun was had by all. Tuesday play was a morning shotgun followed by an awards luncheon. Congratulations to the team from The Dominion Country Club led by guest PGA Professional Chris Pribyl. Tim Fleming from Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club took home low professional honors for the second year in a row.
While we have hosted a few great TGA major events in the past and will continue to so in the future, this event gave us the chance to invite some of the best Club Professionals and their members for a couple of days of golf in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. It was great to see how much fun everyone had and with the support of our partners it was truly a first class event that I know we will be able to build on. We are still somewhat in the infancy of our Club and it was great to attract members of other fine private Clubs that will go back home and spread the word about all that is great about Cordillera Ranch. Hopefully, we may even someday call a few of them homeowners!
Special thanks to Barry Denton, Director of Real Estate at Cordillera Ranch as well as Gavin Heap, Managing Director for Martin Golf Apparel and Fennec Golf.

STPGA Charity Golf Summer
Thanks to all of you who supported Team Cordillera Ranch in our 100 hole marathon for Charity Golf Summer in August. I really appreciate all of the member support and we completely understand none of this was possible without you. We completed all 100 holes and had a blast doing so! The day got off to an incredible start when Dan Parker aced the 4th hole in our first round! I had a crazy day of three chip ins and a holed bunker shot! The golf was actually really solid from all of the six professionals but you could tell we were getting tired near the end. On the last 9-holes we decided to play a 3-man alternate shot match. The wily veterans of David Murrah, Barry Denton and myself defeated the young gun team of Dan Parker, Joe Radulski and Gevin Allen 1-Up. Bragging rights now secure, I have a feeling this one will be talked about amongst us for quite a while! The day turned out to be a great bonding experience for all of us. While we were definitely exhausted at the finish, your support and donations made it all worthwhile. Thanks to your support, we reached our goal of raising $10,000 for the STPGA Junior Golf Foundation and the local Boerne high-school golf programs
