HOW DID YOU GET INTO YOUR FIELD?
I have always had a love for horses and I began riding when I was 9. I began training horses when I was 14 and have been training ever since. I also started teaching horseback lessons when I was 17 and have greatly enjoyed sharing my knowledge with children and adults.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH CORDILLERA RANCH?
4 months

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ASPECT OF WORKING IN THE HILL COUNTRY?
I love the fresh air, the peace of nature, and the relationships I develop with the horses.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES/INTERESTS?
Training horses and competing in cutting and roping events.

FAVORITE QUOTE?
“We ride and never worry about the fall, guess that’s just the cowboy in us all” –George Strait

FAVORITE MOVIE AND WHY?
The Man from Snowy River. I love the natural way of living and that horses were their means of transportation. Riding through mountains, valleys and woods is such an amazing experience.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGE IN YOUR BUSINESS?
The horse business, like many things in life, has its extreme highs and extreme lows. Some years the breeding and selling business is booming and some years it is a big challenge. Through the good and the bad, I have always kept horses as a part of my life.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST REWARDING EXPERIENCE IN YOUR BUSINESS?
I love that moment when you finally get a great connection and bond between you and a young horse. I love the feeling of knowing that I was the first person to ever touch, halter, or ride that horse, and that I gained his trust enough to do so.

FAVORITE ASPECT OR FEATURE AT CORDILLERA RANCH?
Even though Cordillera Ranch turned into a neighborhood, it is still natural. The grass is still long and un-groomed. There are still open fields, and thick brush.

Birding in Cordillera Ranch

Bird watching can be a joyful experience. The sounds of birds frolicking outside your Cordillera Ranch home can be a great addition to your garden and landscape. Bird feeders are the quickest and easiest way to attract our winged friends to your yard. If you have ever visited the Outfitter Center at Cordillera Ranch, you’ll have no doubt about how much I enjoy feeding birds and having them around the entire year.

Manager's Message

Wow, what a time of year!

Spring never disappoints, with warmer weather, longer days and prettier everything, it’s easy to feel a sense of rejuvenation and rebirth during these splendid months. While we’re only a handful of months into the year, and there’s a feeling of a fresh start, it also feels as though some things are coming to conclusion.

Play-A-Hole #7

The 7th hole at Cordillera Ranch is our second Par-3 that you will encounter and can look pretty daunting from the tee. The green slopes away from you and to the right while being guarded by a large bunker on the front/right side and a couple of bunkers on the left side. In case you thought long was safe … it’s not — there’s another bunker there, too!
