The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch – Pro-Am

On Friday, April 5 from 4:00-6:00pm, The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch will host the most successful men’s tennis duo of all time. That’s right — Bob and Mike Bryan, better known as the Bryan Brothers, will be at the Ranch to participate in a Pro-Am competition at the Tennis Club.

Bob and Mike Bryan are identical twins, born and raised in California. They played tennis at Stanford University from 1997-98, where Bob won the rare “Triple Crown” for Stanford, capturing the NCAA singles, doubles (with Mike) and team titles. The twins turned pro in 1998. The Bryans have won multiple Olympic medals, including the gold in 2012, and have won more games, matches, tournaments and Grand Slams than any other men’s pairing. They held the No. 1 doubles world ranking for 438 weeks — longer than anyone in doubles history.

The Pro-Am at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch is part of a larger event as the Hill Country and Alamo City welcome Bob and Mike Bryan, along with 2017 French Open doubles champion, Ryan Harrison, and US Davis Cup Captain, Mardy Fish, to the San Antonio Pro Tennis Classic at Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club, beginning Friday, April 5 at 7:00pm. The Master of Ceremonies will be the Bryan Brothers’ father, Wayne Bryan, who is known for his humor and enthusiasm. The format for the exhibition will include singles between Ryan Harrison and Mardy Fish, followed by doubles featuring World #1 Bob and Mike Bryan vs Harrison and Fish.

Immediately after the April 6 exhibition, the Bryan Brothers Band will perform at the Grand Slam Jam, also at Fair Oaks Country Club. Silent and live auctions benefitting the Warrior and Family Support Center, the Bryan Brothers Foundation and the Bush ACE Outreach Program will be held during the exhibition and concert.

There are eight Cordillera Ranch Pro-Am spots available for purchase, along with 22 Tito’s Terrace VIP courtside tables at the Fair Oaks Ranch event (VIP tables include four seats and the first round of Tito’s). Challenges. Opportunities. Moving Forward.

Fall has been a busy season for the Agronomy team. This important season kicks off after all the fun of the Ladies’ Ranch Roundup, when we begin our greens aerification process. At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been around the game of golf. From watching golf tournaments on TV with my family to going out to the driving range with my dad during my High School years while on the Golf Team, everything I associate with golf has been positive. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
