When trying to imagine your perfect dream home, sometimes it helps to see the real thing. That’s where Lifestyle by Stadler, a luxury custom home builder, comes in. They are the longest standing Preferred Builder for Cordillera Ranch, with more than 60 homes built in the community over the last 15 years.

The Lifestyle by Stadler team is currently showing a model home, called Somerset, at 20 Oakland Hills. The home is only half a mile from the Clubhouse at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch and is for sale with a two-year lease back, if you decide that this house checks off all your dream home boxes.

This organic modern style home is 4,257-square-feet on 1.15 acres and offers the ultimate picturesque views. Along with most of the homes in this community, it has a Texas Hill Country flair yet is bright and open with clean lines and an abundance of windows.

Somerset comes with a large primary suite, two additional bedrooms, five and a half baths, a media/game room with a covered deck, a stunning kitchen with quartzite countertops and stainless-steel appliances, a flex room with its own bath and covered balcony, a three-car garage and spacious outdoor living space with a pool, pool bath and shower.

“The Somerset represents the unique aspects that we like to create in a home. One small example here is the wood tile we used on the outside of the house as an accent, along with the stone and stucco. It’s one of the first times it’s happened here in Cordillera Ranch. It gives the house a clean, elegant look but requires no maintenance,” shared Dean Smith, V.P. of Sales.

As you walk up to the courtyard, you’re greeted by a beautiful bubbling fountain, as well as a 4 x 10-foot iron pivot door. When you enter the two-story foyer, you will immediately notice the panoramic views through the house to the pool area and the golf course beyond, thanks to the near floor to ceiling windows.

The Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course is one of the primary features of Cordillera Ranch. The 7,464-yard course offers cascading wall features and natural limestone canyons amidst the magnificent Texas Hill Country. “We created this home to take advantage of the unique topography of the lot and its golf course views behind it,” explained Richard Howell, Chief Operating Officer. “One example of how we did this was the way we utilized an area of the foundation with a lot of exposure. Instead of building a concrete wall, we inserted a pool bath to nestle in the space and maximize the topography.” Dean added, “After enjoying the luxury pool or working in the yard, you can hop over to the pool bath, purposefully hidden from the golf course, to rinse off before heading inside.”

The Lifestyle by Stadler team considered the front living space of the Somerset as much as they did the rear living space, ideal for enjoying both the mornings and evenings with coffee or cocktails, as you see fit.

“As this home was built in a resort-style area with the Golf Club and amenities, we wanted to make sure that it incorporated that feel in multiple areas of the house, from the moment you walk up to the front door to its living spaces, with assets like multiple outdoor balconies,” Richard said. Richard also points out that with the master bedroom being adjacent to the patio, it’s easy for the homeowners to enjoy the outdoor kitchen, pool, and hot tub, all at the patio-level.

According to Dean, the flex room on the second story can be used as a study, a game room or perhaps a child coming home from college. This room features a full-bath along with a balcony, offering superb views. For the purpose of a model home, the team has decorated it as a home office.

As for the interior design of the Somerset, Lifestyle by Stadler collaborated with Lori Munn, interior designer and owner of Mindful Designing, who has been in the business for more than 20 years. When speaking with Lori, you’ll often hear her use the word mindful. “That’s how I found my business name,” she shared. “What I realized when having those initial conversations with clients and making selections, I would pause and say, ‘Let’s be mindful of that selection.’ It’s helped guide me and my clients as we go through that process.”

In order to help clients stay true to their vision and, again, be mindful of that, Lori encourages them to bring her three photos as inspirations — a sort of vision board — that includes a home exterior, kitchen and master bedroom. “I can see immediately what they want and know where to guide them,” she said.

For this home, Lori wanted to be as mindful as possible of the gorgeous surroundings and bring that nature in. “In light of our world, I wanted to focus on creating this very peaceful nature feel by filling the house with large living plants. The goal was to bring in those natural, organic elements and kind of blur the lines between the interior and exterior,” she said.

Another example of this is the teak wood on some of the fixtures. The master bath showcases the teak wood on the plumbing fixtures and it helps to create a very “nature spa”-inspired room, from the flooring to the tub. “I was also excited to use the stone tub in the master bath. It looks like we took a large rook and chiseled out the tub. Again, that’s really the intent — to bring in nature and create a peaceful home for the family. That’s the room I think people will feel the most relaxed in and want to stay,” she noted.

In the kitchen, Lori used her favorite natural stone countertop material, a champagne-colored quartzite called Taj Majel that she describes as elegant and timeless with really soft movement of warm and cool tones.

If you’re already chomping at the bit to see the Somerset for yourself, you can stop by from 10:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 5:00pm on Sundays.

“There are very few model homes in Cordillera Ranch, so we are excited to add another one to the mix. This home showcases our quality and creativity as a Preferred Builder within the neighborhood.” said Dean.
