September – Club Championship Month at Cordillera Ranch

Men’s Senior Club Championship 

In early September we crowned Steve Vallone as the 2016 Senior Club Champion! After opening with a score of 83, he fired a spectacular final round of 73 to win by one stroke over defending champion Nick Mumford who had steady rounds of 80-77. Steve actually birdied his last hole of the tournament by making a long 30 foot putt to win in style. Here are the complete results:

We also hosted the Ladies Club Championship in September with 18 ladies competing in two different flights. Congratulations to Isabelle Mumford on winning her fourth championship in a row! She won by 14 shots over Paula Mitchell with rounds of 77-81. Here are the complete results:

Jacob King captured his first ever Junior Club Championship with a great round of 75 to win by two shots over Zach Heffernan who carded a 77. Jacob got off to a great start with a fantastic 32 on the front and held on down the stretch. Haley Williamson won the girls flight with a great score of 89. Here are the complete results:

Men’s Club Championship

Ron Trevino played terrific golf in winning his first Men’s Club Championship with solid rounds of 77-74 for a 13 stroke victory over Runner-Up Bryan Moore. Kirk Pearson took home Low Net honors with a 153 total. The tournament was shortened to 36 holes as the last round was canceled due to inclement weather. Here are the complete results:

At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.
