Preferred Builders Tour “A tradition unlike any other.”

While that’s a tagline usually reserved as reference to The Masters each spring in Augusta, GA, I’m referring to our annual Spring Preferred Builders Tour at Cordillera Ranch! This spring’s tour was quite an event with our six Preferred Builders — Pasadera Builders, Todd Glowka Builder, Garner Homes, Burdick Custom Homes, Paul Allen Custom Homes and Lifestyle by Stadler — showcasing the latest in custom building, architecture and design to nearly 300 guests on Saturday, April 6th.

Our bi-annual tour is always a great opportunity for folks to see what’s new in the world of custom homes, while providing guests with plenty of one-on-one time with each of our builders. Attendees also got the chance to vote for their favorites in three categories during the tour, making their choice for Best Home, Kitchen and Outdoor Space of the eight homes featured during the event. Each home featured stunning designs and impeccable craftsmanship, known to ALL our Preferred Builders, so the decisions faced by our voters were tough to make.

Coming out on top with Best Home was Paul Allen Custom Homes’ model, Highpoint, at Cordillera Ridge. Highpoint sits atop a spectacular ridgeline with 20+ mile views across the Hill Country and Guadalupe River Valley. In addition to winning best home, Paul Allen took home the award for Best Kitchen as well. The champ for Best Outdoor Space was won by Todd Glowka with his incredible custom residence on Spyglass Hill in Clubs Village.

Congratulations to our winners and to all our Preferred Builders for a great Spring Tour!

Early Year Activity

The tremendous turnout for our Spring Home Tour doesn’t come as a surprise, rather more of a continuation of early-year real estate momentum. Our CR Realty office has seen continued growth since the beginning of this year, with impressive activity amongst Developer-offered homesites and resale homes listed through our office. Since the existing home inventory market remains in tight supply, many of our buyers have opted to pick-up a homesite and custom build rather than waiting for more homes to come online — a sentiment echoed amongst many of the people we saw during the Preferred Builders Tour. With an impressive and diverse selection of sites currently available, and the busy spring season now upon us, we expect to see continued interest as we move into the summer months.

Challenges. Opportunities. Moving Forward.

Fall has been a busy season for the Agronomy team. This important season kicks off after all the fun of the Ladies’ Ranch Roundup, when we begin our greens aerification process. At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been around the game of golf. From watching golf tournaments on TV with my family to going out to the driving range with my dad during my High School years while on the Golf Team, everything I associate with golf has been positive. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
