What past work history prepared you for Cordillera Ranch?

My first job was at a yacht club in New Orleans, and I was employed there for six years.

What has been your most rewarding professional experience?

Up until this point, my most rewarding experience was when I worked on a vacation boat and traveled across half of the U.S.

What has been your greatest professional challenge?

Every position I’ve held professionally has always been more challenging and prosperous than the last — on up to the present here at Cordillera Ranch.

What’s the funniest thing to happen to you in this business/at the Ranch?

Not being all that funny but definitely amusing is learning everyone’s names.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time I mostly spend time home. I’m raising my 16-year-old daughter whose main residence is with me. Also, I like to consider myself a self-proclaimed restauranteur, so I spend two to three nights a month dining out at newly discovered restaurants.

What motivates you to succeed?

God first, then my kids, and my own continuing pursuit of wanting to be happy.

Are you a cat or dog person, and why?

Neither, because I am raising two daughters and the days of instilling, teaching, feeding, etc., have been enough to last a lifetime.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

As a child growing up, I pretty much wanted to be what I have been doing now well over two decades, and that’s anything and everything dealing with food.

What is your favorite meal?

My favorite meal is grilled ribeye or NY Strip (medium), topped with jumbo shrimp and crab that has been sautéed in a lemon, shallot, butter and wine cream sauce, a twice baked potato and creamed spinach.

What is your favorite genre of music?

Although I do enjoy a vast array of music, R&B is my favorite.

What is your favorite season, and why?

Fall/Winter: The reason would be none other than what one can see on the drive to Cordillera Ranch.

What’s on your bucket list?

Although I’ve traveled mildly abroad, I definitely want to experience the Brazilian Mardi Gras/Carnival.

Anything else you would like to add about yourself?

I am known to cut a rug, and I enjoy doing so!

Living Longer or Living Healthier: Your Lifespan vs. Health Span

At Cordillera Ranch, we often talk about achieving new fitness goals and enjoying a round of golf, tennis or pickleball. These activities and so many others we do are central to a vibrant life here at the Clubs. But how do we measure the success of our health? Do we want to live longer and “survive” our life, or do we want to thrive? Some say we would like quality over quantity; I believe we can have quality in the quantity of years in our lives.

Welcome Letter

It’s Been a Year of Progress and Connection

As the days grow shorter and our community begins to sparkle with holiday lights, I wanted to share a quick note of gratitude and a few friendly reminders as we head into the season. This time of year always seems to bring out the best in people — more get-togethers, more shared meals and more neighborly help when it’s needed most. That spirit is what makes Cordillera Ranch such a special place to call home and, frankly, it’s not solely unique to this time of year.
