The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch and the Cordillera Ranch Property Owner’s Association calendars are always full with special events aimed to please everyone! Family events range from holiday-themed parties, pool activities and evenings on the patio with live music. For adults, wine dinners, Club tournaments, guest speakers and social gatherings reflect the many opportunities to meet your neighbors. Here are few events on the fall calendar to look forward to.

Attention Broadway Lovers!

Broadway is back and the Club is offering an all-inclusive dinner, transportation and show package for four productions at The Majestic Theatre during the Broadway in San Antonio 2021-2022 Season. Each package includes a three-course all-inclusive dinner at the Clubhouse, transportation to and from the theatre and one ticket per show in excellent lower-level orchestra seats. Limited to the first 48 reservations.

Oktoberfest at the Club brings biers, brats, lots of oompah music and community camaraderie. Why September? Because that’s how they do it in Germany! Pico-Boo Halloween Party

The Annual Pico-Boo Trick-or-Treating and Halloween Party returns! There is always a fantastic turnout with kids in costumes, a DJ spinning some ghoulish tunes to set the Halloween mood, food, drinks, lots of treats and a community that comes together year after year to help coordinate this very special event sponsored by Pico Propane. Start with trick-or-treating around Riverwood loop, then join the after-party at Swede Creek Park for more not-so-spooky Halloween fun. If you would like to help with planning or facilitation, please reach out to the POA office at 830.336.3501.

Movie Night at the Park

Looking forward to cooler weather ahead, the POA is coordinating a movie night for all of the amazing Cordillera Ranch families. With a community park as the backdrop, the POA is considering a bounce house, some food trucks and, of course, lots of fresh popcorn! In its early planning stages, no movie has been picked yet, so if you have a suggestion, please let the POA know. This first movie night is just one event of many that the POA is excited to provide to residents if there is thorough interest. The POA will reach out via email with more details!

Amenity Reservations on the Ranch

Cordillera Ranch offers a variety of amenities for property owners and the new POA website allows online reservations for those amenities. To place a reservation request, simply log into the Cordillera Ranch POA website at www.cordilleraranchpoa.com, use the drop down on the For Residents tab and select Reservations, which lists the multiple amenities available. Property owners will then need to select which amenity they wish to reserve, and fill out the online form. The completed form is sent to the POA to review, at which time the POA will approve or deny the request. Once a decision has been made by the POA, the property owner is notified.

Where Do You Spend Your Time?

I recently read a story retold by the father of a young family of three that included himself, his wife and their young daughter. According to his recounting, after dinner they were each challenged to share an object symbolic of how they would describe one another to a stranger. When it was the daughter’s turn to share the item she thought to be representative of her father, she produced a cell phone. At her young age, she wasn’t taking a sarcastic “shot” at her dad, rather, it was how she truly saw him when he was home.
