What past work history prepared you for Cordillera Ranch?

My background as an art and yearbook teacher, coupled with my experience as a social media manager and webpage coordinator, uniquely equipped me for my role as a Communications and Family Events Manager at Cordillera Ranch. Through teaching, I developed strong organizational skills and a knack for creative communication. My digital roles further honed my ability to engage audiences and manage online platforms effectively. Each aspect of my past work history has prepared me to excel in this dynamic and multifaceted position.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

What I enjoy most about working at Cordillera Ranch is the fast-paced environment that allows me to thrive through multitasking. My favorite part of the job is creating flyers and marketing materials using Canva. It’s where I get to unleash my creativity and make a real impact on engaging our community.

What has been your most rewarding professional experience?

One of the most rewarding experiences in my career was working as an art teacher, where I had the privilege of helping children discover and nurture their creative abilities. Witnessing the transformation of my students as they gained confidence in their artistic skills and expressed themselves through art was incredibly fulfilling.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

I would describe myself as bubbly, artistic and caring. My vibrant energy and enthusiasm for life are evident in everything I do. Creativity is my passion, and I love exploring different artistic expressions. Additionally, I deeply value empathy and strive to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

Are you a cat or dog person, and why?

I’m definitely a dog person, no doubt about it! My furry friends, Addie Mae and Sue, are my constant source of joy and companionship. Addie Mae, my beloved sweetheart since college, is a gentle giant who lives for cuddles and lazy naps. Then there’s Sue, our energetic male red heeler mix, named after Johnny Cash’s famous song ‘A Boy Named Sue,’ a playful nod to my fiancé’s love for the artist. Their unconditional love and companionship make every day an adventure!

What do you do in your free time?

In my spare time, I’m often immersed in a range of creative activities, from oil painting to sculpting clay earrings and painting murals. I also enjoy evenings spent dancing with my fiancé, Dylan, at local dance halls and listening to live music. When summer rolls around, you can almost always find me by a body of water, particularly floating down the river in New Braunfels, TX.

What is your secret to happiness?

My secret to happiness is simple: kindness, positivity and faith. Being kind to others and maintaining a positive outlook on life brings joy and fulfillment. Additionally, putting my faith in God and following His guidance provides a source of peace and purpose that enriches every aspect of my life.

What motivates you to succeed?

My biggest motivation to succeed is my fiancé, Dylan. I’m fueled by the desire to provide us with a wonderful life together. Dylan’s support encourages me to push myself to achieve our shared goals and dreams, motivating me to strive for success in all aspects of life.

What was your most recent adventure?

My most recent adventure hasn’t happened yet, but I’m eagerly looking forward to it! In June, I’ll be tying the knot in New Braunfels, TX, and shortly after, my fiancé and I will embark on our honeymoon to the stunning island of Santorini, Greece!

Challenges. Opportunities. Moving Forward.

Fall has been a busy season for the Agronomy team. This important season kicks off after all the fun of the Ladies’ Ranch Roundup, when we begin our greens aerification process. At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

Amanda Naranjo

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been around the game of golf. From watching golf tournaments on TV with my family to going out to the driving range with my dad during my High School years while on the Golf Team, everything I associate with golf has been positive. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
