What an incredible summer! Typically, by the time we reach September, the consensus is, “Thank goodness there’s finally light at the end of the tunnel!” We’ve endured record heat, very little rain and long days that all seem to run together; however, the relief of fall cool fronts seems to be within reach. Not this summer. I don’t know about you, but for me, this summer was free to hang around a little longer. 

Now don’t get me wrong, it was still a summer in Texas. The heat was still present, just at a more manageable level. Perhaps it was tempered a bit by an absolute bounty of rain. Rain that not only filled up our lakes, rivers and reservoirs, but rain that brought welcome summertime temperatures, lightly used irrigation systems, happy vegetation, and dare I say, a little mood elevator to the community.

Images of families floating down the Guadalupe River, navigating rapids, and genuinely enjoying the return of one of the greatest naturally occurring amenities in the Texas Hill Country dominated our neighbors’ Instagram and TikTok feeds. And, as popular as water pursuits and river play are during the summer season, it was just as nice to see folks opt for patio dining on comfortable evenings, take early morning hikes through the hills, and enjoy our easy southern breezes during twilight walks. All perfect ways to while away the perfect summer. 

Now, as we turn the page toward fall, the months ahead bring their own traditions, with weekends full of football, cooler mornings and the anticipation of another wonderful holiday season in our community. It’s always a time of year that we look forward to, but we’ll miss you Summer 2026 — Cheers to you and here’s to a beautiful fall in the Texas Hill Country.
