From Wine and Beyond….

It is great to see everybody back in force around the Clubhouse. We have had great attendance at our events and we have so many more events to come. One thing is growing apparent: All of the events fill up fast, as well as in the Dining Room; please check your e-mails often and call in to make your reservations.

Rombauer Vineyards
We had a sold-out Rombauer wine dinner. Chef Isaac and the Culinary Team just keep setting the bar higher and higher. Great wine, great food and the best members make for wonderful memories. Dave Zinni wowed all in attendance with his in-depth back stories of the Rombauer family, dating back to Irma Rombauer of The Joy of Cooking fame.

Canard Vineyard
I would like to send an additional thank you to all that attended the Adam Fox meet and greet. Adam was very informative and showed off his “World Class” portfolio. It was a great tribute to all of the Cellar Club members.

Men of Bourbon and Beer
Lastly, just a shout out to the MOBB. The Men of Bourbon and Beer met for the first time on January 29. They enjoyed Baladin ‘Isaac,’ a craft beer from Italy; Sixpoint Bengali IPA from Red Hook, Brooklyn; and Santa Fe Imperial Java Stout. The Bourbons that were showcased were Wild Turkey’s joint venture with Matthew McConaughey called Long Branch; Michter’s Small Batch; and an exclusive barrel strength bourbon from Elijah Craig that is 131.4 proof. It certainly packed a punch.

Calling All MOBB:
The next event will be on March 26. Come one, come all and bring your friends. We will not disappoint!

See you at The Club!

Challenges. Opportunities. Moving Forward.

Fall has been a busy season for the Agronomy team. This important season kicks off after all the fun of the Ladies’ Ranch Roundup, when we begin our greens aerification process. At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

Amanda Naranjo

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been around the game of golf. From watching golf tournaments on TV with my family to going out to the driving range with my dad during my High School years while on the Golf Team, everything I associate with golf has been positive. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
