From Wine and Beyond…

By Jeffrey Cohen

Greetings to everybody! It has been great seeing some of your faces as members are branching back out to the Club. We are excited to see you all again as we work through this new state of “norm.”

I recently had the pleasure to welcome a Wine Owner here to the Club. That certainly hasn’t happened for a good while. During this time, I was introduced to a wonderful rosé which has been on fire ever since I brought it in. I want to spend a little time letting you get to know Casey Barber.

Casey is a native Texan and a young mother of three that was working in the medical field. She traveled to France and fell in love with Provence and the rosé scene. So much so, that she started her own wine brand called Rose Gold.

She came back to the Club just last week and mingled with many. She has a vivacious personality and really kicked off her wine with stories and a lot of flare. It was neat to see non-rosé drinkers trying and loving her wine. Although many will say that rosé is a summer wine, it is hot here a good portion of the year. So, the next time you are in, ask for a taste of rosé and maybe, just maybe, Casey will be back and pour it for you herself.

You, too, will fall in love! For more information about Rose Gold, visit www.rosegoldwine.com.

As I finish off, I would encourage all of you to be watching your emails closely as we will be working on bringing Wine Dinners back into some sort of routine. Many are still not traveling, but we will find wineries that will.

See you at the Club!

Challenges. Opportunities. Moving Forward.

Fall has been a busy season for the Agronomy team. This important season kicks off after all the fun of the Ladies’ Ranch Roundup, when we begin our greens aerification process. At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been around the game of golf. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
