What inspired you to pursue work in this field?
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been around the game of golf. From watching golf tournaments on TV with my family to going out to the driving range with my dad during my High School years while on the Golf Team, everything I associate with golf has been positive. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
What past work history prepared you for Cordillera Ranch?
I started out my career at TPC San Antonio where I learned under a great supervisor, as well. This is where I was able to take what I was learning in the classroom and apply it to real-life working situations. After eight years with the PGA TOUR, I took the Director of Retail role at San Antonio Country Club. This is where I was able to take what I learned at TPC San Antonio and apply it in a different environment. After three years of building relationships and building their business, I decided to take the leap to Cordillera Ranch. I can’t wait to collaborate with the members and staff to help create a special Golf Club experience.
What do you like most about working at Cordillera Ranch?
My favorite part of my job is the people I work with. We are truly a team with a common goal that feels more like a family. I was blessed with the opportunity to work alongside Nick Madden and Aaron Killian Smith in the past, and so thankful to be working with them again.
What has been your most rewarding professional experience?
My most rewarding professional experience has been being part of something bigger than myself in every club I’ve had the opportunity to work with. Setting a goal and achieving it together with a team is truly the best feeling.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Passionate, Fun and Creative
What do you do in your free time?
I love to spend time with my family. Most of my family on my dad’s side all live in San Antonio and we are within a 10-mile radius of each other! We are so blessed to live close by each other and definitely take advantage of it. One of our family traditions is Family Fridays where anyone who’s available gets together for dinner, we catch up and are able to spend quality time with each other in between our busy weeks.
What is your secret to happiness?
My secret to happiness is being grounded in faith and family. I am blessed to have the best family around me who challenges me to become a better person every day.
Excluding food and water, what two things would you want if stranded on an island?
A blanket because even in 100-degree weather, I still find a way to be cold! And lip balm — the addiction is real!
What is your favorite season, and why?
My favorite season is winter because of the fashion! I love all the boots and coats we get to wear during our short winter season in South Texas. Kind of ironic since I’m always cold!
What is your favorite food?
Italian food! I love all kinds of pastas and bread!
