This year, over 350 attendees celebrated the District’s Teachers of the Year and Support Staff of the Year, as well as the progress the district’s made to continue being on the cutting edge of public education in Texas. 

Students from the district’s culinary and floral pathways worked with Smoke on the Water to cater and serve at the event and provide decor. Members of various choirs and bands from around the district also provided entertainment before and during the event.

Each of the district’s 14 campuses nominates their own stand-out staff. Ford of Boerne is an incredible partner to the district and the Chamber of Commerce, and presents each of the award winners with gifts at the event.

Launch of “The Boerne Advantage”  and Constellations Magazine

Since joining the district three years ago, Dr. Craft has often spoken about how the culture in Boerne shapes our community. Principals and staff helped to create a set of tenets that help explain “The Boerne Advantage,” or what makes Boerne so special. Dr. Craft shared these tenets at the luncheon, and also launched the district’s new digital magazine, Constellations, where stories highlighting the unique aspects of our region, district and culture were shared from each campus.

Highlights from the past year

• Boerne ISD is one of only 31 districts in the state to receive 6-straight A ratings from the Texas Education Agency
• The district has a 99% graduation rate and a 95% College, Career and Military Readiness rate
• The district was one of only 19 schools to receive the UIL Texas Way designation, which is a new standard in sportsmanship across Texas
• Over 11,177 students call Boerne ISD home. In the 2025-2026 school year, 682 new families joined the district. Since 2016, the district has grown by 3,275 students.
• 32 projects from the 2022 Bond have been completed so far — many of them under budget and ahead of schedule
• The district was authorized to spend $165.64M by Bond 2022 voters; so far, Boerne ISD has paid back $45.6M in principal — dramatically cutting down interest payments and saving taxpayer dollars
• For 2025-26, 682 students are currently partnering with local businesses via work-based placements through their Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways
• The district’s two Pathways To Early College High School (P-TECH) programs offer a solid foundation for success in Health Sciences and Cybersecurity. Students enrolled in these programs can graduate with an Associate’s Degree before officially completing HS! 20% of incoming high schoolers are enrolled in P-TECH programs
• In 2024-25, the district’s dual credit programs saved families approximately $898,000 in college credit costs, while Advanced Placement courses saved families approximately $865,000 in college credit costs.
