2025 Employee Recognition Awards

At The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch

By:
Marc DeWall, General Manager

At The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch, we take pride in showcasing our dedicated employees and rewarding them for going above and beyond to create an environment where members feel right at home. We value positive energy, respect, courtesy and the ability to exceed expectations while adding value to projects. Our employees set an example for their peers and lead by showing outstanding service.

One way we recognize our team members is through the “C-A-Star in Action” program. This allows members and staff to nominate employees who go the extra mile by completing a C-A-Star in Action form, available throughout the Clubhouse, on the member app or the member website (under My Club -> C-A-Star in Action). Quarterly, the Employee Appreciation Committee reviews all nominations and selects four winners, who then enjoy lunch at the Clubhouse with owners David Hill and Charlie Hill, General Manager Marc DeWall and Human Resources Admin Kathi Spink. Winners receive a gift card, a certificate signed by Marc DeWall and a Yeti water bottle engraved with their last name and “Outstanding Service.”

We encourage our members to submit these forms as our employees truly appreciate the kind words and recognition, which could lead them to be nominated for Employee of the Year. Each year, department heads review the Employees of the Quarter and vote for the Employee of the Year, who is honored at the Employee Appreciation Party. This individual is presented with a Clint Orms bracelet or money clip, engraved with the C-Star logo, their initials and “Outstanding Service.”

We are thrilled to congratulate Megan Basham, our Member Relations & Lodging Concierge, who was named Employee of the Year for her exemplary service and positive attitude, creating an exceptional experience for our members. We also proudly recognize those who have shown dedication through their long-term service. Four employees celebrated 15+ years with The Clubs, each receiving a pair of customized cowboy boots from Collyn’Rae, tailored to their preferences and size. Our 10+ year employees were gifted Clint Orms C-Star bracelets or money clips, based on their choice. This year, we also celebrated Jenna Martin, who marks her 10th anniversary with The Clubs, being an outstanding leader and a welcoming presence for our members.

Additionally, we host Employee Appreciation parties twice a year — one in the summer and another in January. These events are a great opportunity for employees and their families to enjoy activities like TopGolf®, boating at Canyon Lake, floating the river in New Braunfels, and pickleball at Chicken N Pickle®. During the winter party, we serve dinner, offer entertainment, and recognize employees with service awards, including Ranch Hand (three months of service), Wrangler (six months of service with additional contributions) and Trail Boss (one year of service, leadership and collaboration).

We are grateful to all of our employees for making The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch a fantastic place to work and for continually going above and beyond for our members. We also appreciate our members for their ongoing support of our dedicated team!

Birding in Cordillera Ranch

Bird watching can be a joyful experience. The sounds of birds frolicking outside your Cordillera Ranch home can be a great addition to your garden and landscape. Bird feeders are the quickest and easiest way to attract our winged friends to your yard. If you have ever visited the Outfitter Center at Cordillera Ranch, you’ll have no doubt about how much I enjoy feeding birds and having them around the entire year.

Manager's Message

Wow, what a time of year!

Spring never disappoints, with warmer weather, longer days and prettier everything, it’s easy to feel a sense of rejuvenation and rebirth during these splendid months. While we’re only a handful of months into the year, and there’s a feeling of a fresh start, it also feels as though some things are coming to conclusion.

Play-A-Hole #7

The 7th hole at Cordillera Ranch is our second Par-3 that you will encounter and can look pretty daunting from the tee. The green slopes away from you and to the right while being guarded by a large bunker on the front/right side and a couple of bunkers on the left side. In case you thought long was safe … it’s not — there’s another bunker there, too!
