Junior Golf Association

Mission Statement: Cordillera Ranch Junior Golf Association is an organization dedicated to providing Cordillera youth the skills to learn and play the game of golf while establishing camaraderie among its members in a fun, exciting environment.

Ages: 7-14

Description: The Cubs Flight is designed for the beginner junior golfer. Introduction to the game of golf will be taught along with rules and etiquette. The program will concentrate on basic technical skills, performing TPI golf specific movements to introduce golf skills and, most importantly, a lifetime of fun. The junior golfers will have an opportunity to play on the golf course with the golf professionals once the basic techniques and rules are taught.

Membership Tuition: $225 (June-October)
• CJGA Cap and Bag Tag
• Two hours (1:00pm to 3:00pm) of monthly clinics or play days

2017 Cordillera Cubs Summer Golf Camp

The Cordillera Cubs Junior Golf Camps are a great way to introduce youngsters to the game as well as for intermediate level juniors. The focus of the program is to teach each junior golfer at his/her own level of experience. Junior golfers will receive the basics of a good set up that will lead to improvement in all areas of the golf swing, short-game, bunker play and putting. Junior golfers will also leave the camp with a better understanding of golf rules and etiquette.

Dates: 
Session 1 ~ June 6 – 9
Session 2 ~ June 20 – 23
Session 3 ~ July 5 – 8
Session 4 ~ July 18 – 21
Session 5 ~ August 1 – 4

Time: 9:00am to 11:30am (instruction)
11:30am to 1:00pm (swimming and lunch)

Ages: 7 – 14

Fee: $225 – Member
$250 – Member-sponsored guests (with space available)

WEEKLY JUNIOR CLINIC

The Weekly Junior Clinic will be available to juniors who cannot commit to Cordillera Junior Golf Association clinics or as an addition. The juniors will be taught golf course etiquette, and will be taught and tested on the rules of golf, which will prepare them to play the game by the rules and ready them for a social round.

Ages: 6-9

Dates: Session 1: April-May
Session 2: September-November

Time: 4:30pm to 5:30pm

Fee: $25 Per Session

Ages: 10-14

Dates: Session 1: April-May
Session 2: September-November

Time: 5:30pm to 6:30pm

Fee: $25 Per Session

Junior Tournament Player Program

This program is designed for the “Elite” Junior Golfers who strive to elevate their game to the regional and national competitive level. It is designed to educate the junior golfers on the skills needed to play competitively at the highest level. Each junior golfer will receive a customized personal evaluation that will detail the key elements of each junior’s strengths and weaknesses to their advantage during tournament competition. The program will include regular on course play, competition, skills analysis and instruction to enhance their competitive skills. Juniors entering this program will improve the three most important elements to scoring: driving, wedge play and putting.

Dates: Every Wednesday, June 7 through August 9

Time: 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Fee: $850 for all 10 sessions or $100 per session

JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Date: September 16

Format: Stroke Play by Age-Division

PARENT-CHILD GOLF AND FISHING TOURNAMENT

Date: August 26

Format: Two-Person Scramble (Nine-Hole) and Fishing Tournament

Bryan Gathright, Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Teacher, and Gevin Allen, the PGA Director of Instruction at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch, will administer and teach. Bryan has taught numerous players on the PGA Tour, Champions Tour, LPGA Tour, as well as, top amateur and collegiate players. During his work with those players at the highest level of their profession, he has had the privilege to teach and observe their strengths and weaknesses. Bryan has had five players earn their PGA Tour playing privileges under his tutelage. Bryan Gathright can be reached at bgathright@cordilleraranch.com.

Gevin Allen has been with The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch for the past ten years and has been involved with junior player development from the beginning. He is a U.S. Kids Certified Instructor and TPI Certified Level 3 Golf Professional specializing in Golf Mechanics. Gevin works closely with Ann-Kristin Allen, a TPI Certified Level 3 Fitness Professional, in creating golf fitness programs at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch.
