When setting out to develop all of the details for the new B&C Model Home on the 17th fairway of the Cordillera Ranch golf course, Sherry and Damon Christofilis found themselves pouring over all of the possibilities. The one thing they kept coming back to was the fact that “we wanted this home to exemplify all of the opportunities of designing and building a custom home on a one-acre golf course lot that demonstrates and embraces the Cordillera Ranch lifestyle. This home is the right one for where we are in the evolution of both our company and our lives.” Since setting up shop in Cordillera Ranch in 2000, Burdick & Christofilis has had four different homes which have served as model homes. They have lived in the last three since moving to Cordillera in 2003. The ability to showcase different styles of homes has enabled Burdick & Christofilis to keep their product current and show people the vast array of their trades’ talents and workmanship. Having a show ready model home that you actually live in may sound like a burden to some but Sherry does not feel that way. “To be able to show prospects, and our future neighbors, the possibilities and potential outcomes of the finished product is both a blessing and a gift that we enjoy sharing” says Sherry. To that end, the new model home has immediately done just that and at the same time has been garnering rave reviews.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a lush courtyard set off by rock walls and hand-crafted wrought iron gates. The space achieves privacy for the occupants, invitation for the guests as well as screening from our “deer friends.” A carved, limestone fountain is also found here and it provides the soothing sound of running water to set a relaxing tone as you enter the home.
Once inside the Italian farmhouse-styled home, visitors are greeted by an abundance of rich, walnut-stained wood found in the knotty alder cabinets and doors as well as the pine moulding and windows. The amber tone of the Brazilian “Café Tuaca” flooring pairs nicely with the golden walls. The kitchen and great room, with their soaring 16-foot tall ceilings and massive Douglas fir timbers is a space that can accommodate a large gathering and in fact has done so several times in the home’s brief history. The large space is home to 10-foot tall sliding, pocket doors that disappear easily into the flanking walls leading out to an expansive patio where indoor and outdoor living converge. From both the home and the patio, at least six different golf course holes can be seen. “We bought this lot well before the course was even built, but I had a pretty good idea of what we could achieve in relation to maximizing the golf views” Damon notes.
