Happier Holidays

It’s always a good time at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch and around the holidays, things are even more special. The calendar listing (page 19) is full of the Club’s traditional holiday activities, and here are a few more events for both adults and kids to make the season even merrier.

Show Time!

Theatre lights are back on and the Club is offering an all-inclusive dinner, transportation and show package for three more productions at The Majestic Theatre during the Broadway in San Antonio 2021-2022 Season. Each package includes a three-course all-inclusive dinner at the Clubhouse, transportation to and from the theatre and one ticket per show in excellent lower-level orchestra seats. Limited to the first 48 reservations.

Holidays Kids Camps

Keep your kids active, entertained and learning new skills during the holiday break with a fun selection of camps. Camp themes include sports, arts and crafts and cooking so there’s something to please every boy and girl.

Holiday Sports Camp

Dates: December 21-23, 28-30, and January 4-6 |Time: 10:00am – 2:00pm | Ages: 8-14 |
Location: Tennis Center | Fee: $200 

Holiday Sports Camp is an endless collection of sports and activities that challenge kids and help to develop confidence, hand-eye coordination and motor skills while having fun in the great outdoors. We will be playing tennis, pickleball, capture the flag, gaga ball and more. Lunch is included.

Little Holiday Sports Camp 

Dates: December 21-23 | Time: 10:00am – 2:00pm | Ages: 4-7 | Location: Tennis Center | Fee: $200

Little Holiday Sports Camp offers a great combination of sports for beginner kiddos that are learning and growing. Different sport activities will be in the morning and there will be fun, cool-down games and activities in the afternoon. Lunch is included.

Holiday Cooking Camp

Date: December 21-23 | Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm | Ages: 8-12 | Location: Main Dining Room | Fee: $165

 This hands-on cooking experience will focus on preparing a variety of delicious holiday dishes and then creating beautiful plating presentations, all taught by a knowledgeable chef. All cooking materials are provided.

Little Holiday Cooking Camp

Date: December 21-23 | Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm | Ages: 4-7 | Location: Main Dining Room | Fee: $165

 Calling all little chefs to learn and grow in the world of cooking! This holiday camp will teach your young chef the safety skills and knowledge necessary to be in a kitchen. We will dive into hands-on, sensory cooking projects that let your camper experience the look, feel, smell and taste of their food creations. All cooking materials are provided.

Little Holiday Art Camp

Date: December 28-30 | Time: 12:30 – 4:30pm | Ages: 4-7 | Location: Group Exercise Studio | Fee: $200

 Calling all little crafters to come learn, play and experience hands-on art projects. Each day we will be creating holiday masterpieces using different art mediums. Your little artist will practice large and small motor skills, social interaction and creativity while having fun and experiencing new things. All materials are provided.

Holiday Art Camp

Date: January 4-6 | Time: 12:30 – 4:30pm | Ages: 7-10 | Location: Group Exercise Studio | Fee: $200

 This camp is all about being creative! Here at Art Camp, we aren’t afraid of a little mess. We will be learning unique art techniques while creating holiday masterpieces using different mediums throughout the week. All materials are provided.

Fall has been a busy season for the Agronomy team. This important season kicks off after all the fun of the Ladies’ Ranch Roundup, when we begin our greens aerification process. At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

From watching golf tournaments on TV with my family to going out to the driving range with my dad during my High School years while on the Golf Team, everything I associate with golf has been positive. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
